Hitch racks for bicycles on cars

I really like my hitch rack.

They’re definitely more sturdy than the strap on things that fit to the back of a hatchback.

I installed a hitch on my GTI specifically for using a hitch-mounted rack. Installation was pretty straightforward for me. Using the actual rack is a breeze. It’s far easier than dealing with a roof rack.

Got a hitch put on my Mini Cooper and a 1Up Superduty Single. Couldn’t be easier.

After many years of roof racks, I put a hitch rack on when I bought my Subaru Outback. It’s much easier to load/unload than a roof rack.

Tow bar racks are definitely the “git er dunn easy” of putting bikes on and off cars. I thought throwing it in the bed of my pickup would be easier but way easier to strap on the hitch rack for the rav.

I got a hitch rack last summer for my civic and although it makes the clearance slightly worse, it’s well worth it. My wife agrees that it’s a game changer.

Just about everyone will tell you that a tray style hitch rack is the most convenient. And I couldn’t disagree more. Hitch racks are in the way of your trunk 100% of the time. You have to swing it up or down to get it out of your way. Roof racks are far more convenient after the initial install. Unless you can’t reach the roof of your vehicle.
