Keep using Thinkpad keyboard for now. Get a USB-C to multi USB adapter so that the wired keyboard can be connected to android phone. Set up Android to Linux SSH or remote dektop set up. This set up should give you the ability to take advantage of the full desktop features with only the phone and the keyboard carried around. If this set-up works, we can switch the Thinkpad keyboard with any other wired keyboard as long as it uses the same USB port. The advantage with the Thinkpad keyboard is, it does not need a separate mouse.

Devices with large screens

Real estate really matters when it comes to notebooks and laptop screens. Stick to A4 size for notebooks. There is a reason they are more popular than any other size. It is a good size. It is tried and tested and it survived.

This applies to computer screen sizes and monitor sizes too. Always go for the bigger size screens when it is practical.

Computers or laptops vs tablet devices

The best tablets in the world pale in comparison when it comes to the amount of work that you can get done on a computer. The keyboard is an amazing tool in the hands of a person that knows how to use it. How to use a computer in a car? We can use it wherever there is a power plug. I cannot think of anything for which a tablet will be a better fit than a computer: reading articles, checking email, messaging, programming, typing, documenting, etc. There may be some people out there who have a good use case for using a tablet - but they are not for me.

Spending money on devices

Stop looking at devices like big screen tablets or electronic notebooks with writing features. Nothing beats pen and paper and the free flow of thoughts that they enable. The solution to taking notes when reading textbooks is to write notes in the textbook - don’t be afraid to make it dirty. It is just one copy of the textbook. It is “your” copy of the textbook.
